LANCASTER — Select Board approves contested FY2027 budget on divided vote. Board Chair Jason A. Allison and member David R.
Carr recommended the budget, which increases municipal services 11.56 percent and uses $550,000 in Free Cash to balance; member Ralph A. Gifford III opposed it and announced he will present a minority opinion at the May 4 Annual Town Meeting. The board voted 2-1 to recommend $1.1 million in capital borrowing for school sprinkler replacement and building assessment.
In reviewing 26 warrant articles, the board recommended approval of 20, with Articles 21 and 25 deferred for further review.
