LANCASTER — Select Board backs fire equipment leases, seeks $220,000 federal earmark. The Lancaster Select Board unanimously voted to recommend Town Meeting approval of lease-purchase financing agreements for a fire department tanker truck and ambulance under General Law Chapter 44, with terms not exceeding eight years each. Board Chair Jason A.
Allison, Member Ralph A. Gifford III, and Member David R. Carr made final recommendations on the Special Town Meeting warrant, approving Articles 1, 2, and 5 while tabling Articles 3 and 4.
Gifford abstained from voting on Article 5 due to his service on the Lancaster Sewer Board. The board unanimously endorsed a $220,000 earmark request from Congresswoman Trahan to upgrade both ambulances to Advanced Life Support level.
