Select Board approves Industrial School property negotiating terms

LANCASTER — Select Board advances Industrial School deal, approves FY27 budget without override. Chair Jason A. Allison moved to adopt revised Business Terms for the Industrial School for Girls property, which the board approved unanimously to establish the town's official negotiating position with the state Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance.

The board also presented its preliminary Fiscal Year 2027 budget, proposing a 7.1 percent operating increase and 7.09 percent tax levy increase without requiring an override. The budget totals $10.95 million in General Fund town expenses and $22.55 million in education expenses, according to Town Administrator John R. Woodsmall III.

Certified Free Cash stands at $1.821 million.
