Commission on Disability sets 2026 focus on business accessibility letters

Commission on Disability · Meeting of January 20, 2026

LANCASTER — Commission on Disability sets 2026 business accessibility outreach initiative. The Lancaster Commission on Disability plans to send letters to town businesses with accessibility recommendations based on 2025 canvassing. Chair Michael McCue will draft the letter with member input and survey findings; volunteer Marjorie Ness will research business contacts.

The Commission will consider requesting clerical support from town administration and will prioritize locations where improvements would most benefit residents. Daryl Blaney will contact Bigelow Gardens about a new trash policy affecting disabled residents, and Lesley Allison will address plowing at the library's accessible parking spot.
