Lancaster Select Board votes 2-1 to oppose state legislative compromise on audit authority. The board authorized Chair Jason A. Allison to sign letters requesting the Governor veto any compromise diluting a 2024 ballot question on legislative audit.

Ralph A. Gifford III opposed, citing partisan concerns, while David R. Carr and Jason A.

Allison voted in favor. Town Administrator John R. Woodsmall III explained the Senate Ways and Means Committee had recommended a new version of the bill striking House language on audit procedures and creating a new legislative record process.
