Finance Committee · Meeting of March 18, 2026

LANCASTER — Finance Committee charts path to reduce $865K deficit. Acting Chair Roy Rezac led the committee through budget reviews, identifying Water Department indirect transfers of $220,000 and potential Overlay Surplus draws of $200,000 to $400,000 that could reduce the town's operating deficit to between $265,000 and $465,000. The committee heard presentations from Fire Chief Jon Belanger, DPW Superintendent Scott MacDonald, and Library Director Joe Mulé on departmental budgets.

Finance Director Cheryl Gariepy announced that department heads are now tracking year-over-year line-item changes, improving budget transparency.
