Finance Committee endorses Fire Department equipment articles

LANCASTER — Finance Committee unanimously endorses Fire Department tanker and ambulance articles, faces $915,000 budget shortfall. Acting Chair Roy Rezac led the committee to unanimous approval of two Special Town Meeting articles for Fire Department equipment, to be funded through an eight-year lease with first payments in fiscal 2027, drawing from the Capital Stabilization Account. The committee also unanimously approved payment of $576.24 in past-due sewer bills to the Library, Prescott Building, and Community Center.
Town Administrator John Woodsmall identified a budget shortfall of approximately $915,000; without Free Cash use, the shortfall could require significant personnel cuts.
