Recreation Committee · Meeting of February 26, 2026
LANCASTER — Recreation Committee discusses sports field fee structure, receives CPA approvals for court project. The committee, chaired by Thomas Wood with members Mark Renczkowski, Victoria Fasel, and Sherry Cutler present, unanimously approved prior meeting minutes. The CPA Committee voted the same date to advance a Multi-Sports Court design to May Town Meeting.
Town Administrator John Woodsmall noted proper sports field maintenance costs approximately $10,000 per acre annually, suggesting a gradual fee structure would shift costs from the general tax base to field users. The committee also planned a moon walk event for June 29, identified as offering peak lunar illumination at 8 p.m.
