Cultural Council adopts FY27 grant priorities, plans community engagement.

Cultural Council · Meeting of July 18, 2026

Lancaster Cultural Council finalizes FY27 grant priorities based on community survey. Chair Valorie Parent led the council in adopting revised Local Priorities emphasizing applications from local artists and organizations, programs with solid planning and secured venues, free or low-cost participation, and initiatives reflecting regional diversity. First-time applicants will be considered an additional consideration.

Secretary Jonathan Swenson will present a grant-evaluation rubric at the August 17 workshop. Grant applications open September 1 and close October 15. The council identified sciences as underrepresented in community feedback and discussed strategies to enrich existing cultural events like fairs.
