Select Board finalizes warrant for town meeting, ratifies firefighters union contract

Lancaster Select Board authorizes firefighters union contract. After months of negotiation, the board voted unanimously to authorize the Town Administrator to ratify a three-year agreement with the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, District 7, Local 5527-Lancaster, effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. Police Chief Everett Moody announced the agreement makes the department competitive with surrounding towns in salaries, benefits, and training.

The board also finalized the warrant for the May 4 Annual Town Meeting and authorized the Town Administrator to sign grant applications for Library HVAC Improvements and the FY26 Rural Development Fund Grant.
